As the regular season winds down for the Ruleville Central Lady Tigers (17-4; 9-0), it is apparent that this team has every capability of making a deep run in the postseason.
If they do so, it will be on the back of their star, Jacorriah Bracey.
One of the most coveted female athletes by colleges in the state of Mississippi, Bracey’s junior season has been everything it was hyped up to be back in November.
Of late, she has been on a torrid pace, scoring 90 points over two games two weeks ago, and nearly repeating that in the past week.
Most recently, Bracey helped the Lady Tigers slide past Humphreys County 56-55.
Led by her 30 points, 6 assists and 11 rebounds, Ruleville secured win No. 17 on the season and No. 9 in regional play, where they have remained unbeaten.
Tykirra Nash scored 9 points for the Lady Tigers and Deandrea Craft scored 8, with 13 rebounds.
Solid performances like that of Nash and Craft, along with Mekevia Shaw, give the Lady Tigers the depth they need behind Bracey to win close matches, which RCHS will likely see more of come playoff time.
On Friday night, Bracey secured her second 50-plus point game in a week, scoring 52 in a 77-75 win over Yazoo County in double overtime. She had 2 blocks and 5 assists in that contest.
Shaw scored 9, with 11 rebounds.
RCHS will faceoff against JZ George on Friday night.
As the competition gets tougher and the games get closer, Bracey and her teammates look as ready as ever for the playoffs.
