Quindarrius Whitley keeps getting better by the game.
The Inverness native and 2016 Gentry High School graduate has helped the Holmes Community College Bulldogs to a 3-0 start during the 2017 football campaign.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker’s most recent performance helped the Bulldogs blank Mississippi Delta Community College 29-0.
During last Thursday night’s match in Moorhead, Whitley recorded five solo tackles to go along with four assists for nine total tackles on the night.
Whitley and the Bulldogs opened the season against East Central Community College where he recorded two solo tackles, to go along with six assists for eight total tackles.
Whitley also had a fumble recovery during the opening week contest.
The next week, Whitley started against Southwest Mississippi Community College where the sophomore recorded four assists.
On Thursday night, MDCC did not have much going for it on offense, totaling 152 yards, according to Holmes Community College’s communications department, while the Bulldogs racked up 490 yards of offense.
MDCC’s Malcolm Shirley (44 yards) and LeDaveon Smith (30 yards) accounted for 74 of those yards on the ground.
So far on the young season, Whitley has 7 solo tackles, 14 assists (21 total tackles), averaging 7 tackles per game.
Whitley will be back on the field tonight at 6:30 at home against Coahoma Community College.
Whitley is the son of Belinda Smith and Willie Whitley.
