South Sunflower County Hospital marked a huge milestone in maternity care last Thursday, cutting the ribbon on the Indianola-based hospital’s new Maternity Care Center. Thanks to a partnership between SSCH, Indianola Family Medical Group and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi — with the support of the BCBS of Mississippi Foundation, the center addresses the region’s growing maternity case needs and builds a care model that leads with innovation, compassion and community engagement, according to a release from BCBS.
The new facility features four state-of-the-art rooms for maternity care, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) care, allowing mothers to remain in one room throughout their stay.
The new wing arrives with four LDRP rooms, three antepartum rooms, a triage room and dedicated spaces for telehealth and care collaboration. More photos appear on Page 22 and a more in-depth story is planned for the June 13 edition. Photo by Bryan Davis
