Sunflower County emergency services from Feb. 9-16:
On Monday, February 9 at 4:01pm, Sunflower County Emergency Services deployed a 5-member Grain Bin Rescue team to assist Yazoo County in a grain bin rescue.
On Monday, February 9 at 4:20pm, the Linn-Steiner-Roundaway Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Stephen Lyon Road.
On Monday, February 9 at 5:44pm, Rescue Co. 1 responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 1700 range of US Highway 82 East.
On Thursday, February 12 at 2:11pm, the Drew Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of US Highway 49 and Mississippi Highway 32.
On Friday, February 13 at 11:40am, Rescue Co. 1, the Indianola Fire Department and Sunflower County Emergency Services members responded to Walmart, 633 Highway 82 West, after a vehicle crashed into the building. Four patients were triaged on scene. One was flown to a regional trauma center. Three were transported locally by Medstat EMS.
On Friday, February 13 at 3:00pm, the Moorhead Volunteer Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm activation at Thompson-Dantone Hall (men’s residence hall).
