Murder suspect turns himself in

A 16-year old suspect is in custody, charged with the brutal slaying of a 28-year-old Indianola man.
Indianola Police Investigator Sergeant Regina Simpson said on Monday that Demarion Quashawn Gardner turned himself in on Friday and confessed to the crime.

IPD chief to hold rally

Dogs must be restrained for county garbage pickup

EMA director quizzed on county’s emergency preparedness

The recent storms and the flooding and devastation caused by them prompted Sunflower County Board of Supervisors’ President Riley Rice to query Sunflower County Emergency Management Director Mitch Ramage on the condition of the county’s emergency response.
"Are we ready for an emergency, is it anything that we need?" Rice asked.
