Library system lobbies for budget increase

The Sunflower County’s library system needs $889,453.47 for things to operate smoothly.
The Sunflower County Board of Supervisors is considering giving the library $450,000 toward the system’s upcoming budget year, which will be $50,000 more than the county library received last year.

City will likely shop rates for certificate of deposit accounts

The city’s certificate of deposit accounts were set to mature this month, and it appears that the board will not liquidate for cash.
According to Indianola City Clerk Angela Goodwin, the city did not receive a two-week notification that the account ending in #0708 would automatically renew.
