Growing up in Inverness, Stan Bennett has been a first responder running toward danger for more than half a century. Joining the Inverness Volunteer Fire Department 50 years ago, he also worked with the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff L.B. Williams and the Indianola Police Department.
