Over the many years that my wife and I have been married and during the days of raising our four children, we have faced difficult situations from time to time. Of course, these are not just our problems – everyone has faced or will face these type situations themselves. These are the times when you are tested with your faith in God.
I remember one time my wife and I faced some difficulty in the early 1980s. We moved to a different state and several hours away from our families and relatives. I had taken a new job, and we weren’t close to a lot of our friends or co-workers in the area at that time. We were searching for housing and a school and kindergarten for our children to attend. Then to add to these necessities, I was put in the hospital for a week with a severe kidney infection.
Our faith in God was and continues to be very strong. We spent several hours on our knees talking to Him and never once did we ever doubt that He would leave us in desperate measures.
We are told in Isaiah 12:2, “Behold God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’” NKJV
There are many other couples facing these same type problems we saw at that time. The greatest victory for us at the time was our Christian faith in God and the reassurance that He would not leave us but bring us through it. He will do the same for anyone who knows Him personally and has accepted Him into their heart as their Lord and Savior.
I have counseled individuals going through hard times. Most of the time these people were trying to fix their problems on their own or through resources offered by the world. Many times, listening to the world is what caused the problems in the first place. The world will tell you quick fix solutions which don’t include the Lord God and create fear and doubt among those struggling.
There is a saying that has great meaning to it: “There is nothing that can drive you lower than your knees.” My wife and I know this firsthand because we have been on our knees talking to God many times. He has never forsaken us and not delivered a solution. He will do the same for you. Go to your knees today and accept Him as your Lord and Savior and invite Him into your heart.
Victory for you has been established for what He did for us when He died on the cross and was raised three days later from the grave.
The prophet Jeremiah tells us in 32:17; “Ah, Lord God! Behold you have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.” NKJV
We need to remember this verse and always remember nothing is impossible with God.
