Celebrating the Legacy and Impact of HBCUs: Profiles of HBCU Graduates from Sunflower County
In honor of Black History Month, The Enterprise-Tocsin is shining a spotlight on the vital role that Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) play in shaping leaders and uplifting communities.
In Mississippi, HBCUs not only provide quality education but also serve as incubators for excellence, resilience, and social change. They empower students to overcome challenges and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
In Sunflower County, four remarkable individuals exemplify the transformative power of HBCUs: Tina L. Steele, J.D. Tiggs Jr., Steve Alexander Hayes and Dr. Shequite Wilson-Johnson.
Each has forged a unique path, using their education to inspire and uplift those around them.
