The Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans picked up an MACCC win in a doubleheader split with Meridian last week. The game two, 6-3 win gave the Trojans a 2-6 MACCC record and improved their overall to 5-16.
Hosting top-ranked Pearl River, 5-1 in the MACCC and 25-5 overall, will be a daunting task but the MACCC is rife with talent and as tough a division as the D1 SEC. The Trojans will travel to Holmes on Tuesday, April 1, for a 2 p.m.-first-pitch doubleheader.
After 21 games, the Trojans, batting .244 as a team, have been led by freshman Cristian Bridges with his .327 average that includes eight RBIs and 18 hits and 17 walks. Freshman catcher Junior Diaz has a .298 average with 17 hits in 57 at bats with 11 RBIs and 17 walks.
