Early on, it looked like a bad night for the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans. On the road at Meridian Community College, the Trojans were down by 18 points at halftime, 39-21. A late second-half surge nearly paid off as MDCC put up 44 points while holding the Eagles to only 31 but couldn’t close the gap and fell, 70-65.
The Trojans, 7-9 overall and 0-3 in MACCC, next faced Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, 11-6 overall and 1-2 in MACCC, on Thursday (not covered due to press time) and will travel to Northwest Community College, 7-8 overall and 1-2 in MACCC on Monday, January 27, followed by hosting Southwest, 10-6 overall and 1-0 in MACCC, on Thursday, January 30.
