Services for Vergie “Pie” Peacock of Ruleville will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Lampton Street Church, Mound Bayou. Burial will follow at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens, Cleveland.
Ms. Peacock, 80, died Monday, June 17, 2024, at Medical City Plano in Plano, Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland, which is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Harvey Jackson will officiate at the services.
Ms. Peacock is survived by: one son, Dexter Peacock; three daughters, Jacqueline Smith, Victoria Crain and Natasha Foster; two brothers, Joe Thomas and Robert Thomas; five sisters, Jessie Gray, Annie Hervey, Bobbie Grammer, Sylvia Edwards and Gwendolyn Brown; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special friend, Norris Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
