Miss Laura Annette King became the bride of Kyle Loyd Grubb on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in Grenada.
The couple exchanged wedding vows at 6 o’clock in the evening at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Daniel Herring officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Gwen Lott of Holcomb and the late Jay King Jr.
She is the granddaughter of the late David and Joan Sayle of Charleston, Jay and Shirley King of Cascilla, and Billy and Rosanne Lott of Holcomb.
The groom is the son of Karl H. and Robin Grubb of Grenada. He is the grandson of Carlton and Pat Mayfield of Cleveland, the late Brownie West of Cary, and Carl and Brenda Grubb of Moorhead.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Jay King, and given in marriage by her stepfather, Michael Lott. She wore a couture antique ivory designed gown by Allure Bridals. The gown featured romantic sequins and beautiful crystals along with an elegant touch of lace draped over charmeuse satin with a deep V shape for both the neckline and back. The fit and flare style fell into a chapel length train of illusion netting. She wore a fingertip veil of light gold illusion trimmed with delicate seed pearls, crystals and rocals. She carried a bouquet of all-white Hydrangeas, Brunia Berries, Playa Blanca Roses, and Ranunculus Roses accented with Baby’s Breath and tied with white satin ribbon. A gold and diamond ring, given by the mother of the bride which was a gift from the bride’s father, completed her outfit.
Lacey King Holt, sister of the bride, of Kosciusko served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Allye Baldwin of Gore Springs; Marah Bennett of Grenada; Beth Bright of Grenada; Karlyn Grubb, sister of the groom, of Grenada; Alexis Dehart of Grenada; Shelby Hayes of Senatobia; Cassie Lott, sister of the bride, of Holcomb; Kelsie Owens of Duck Hill; and Maggie Thompson of Pensacola, Fla. Savanna King, cousin of the bride, of Cascilla was the junior bridesmaid. The bride’s proxy was Brooke Mallette of Grenada. Bailey Burch, niece of the bride and daughter of Cassie Lott and Thomas Burch, of Holcomb was the flower girl.
Karl H. Grubb, father of the groom, of Grenada served as best man. Groomsmen were Alex Ballard of Grenada, Phil Evans of Ridgeland, Garret Kyle of Grenada, Hunter Lewis of Grenada, Chip Meredith of Clarksdale, Chase Newman of Starkville, and Wade Vance of Drew. Ushers were Mason Holt, brother-in-law of the bride, of Kosciusko; Justin Lott, brother of the bride, of Holcomb; and Cade Busby, cousin of the bride, of Paynes. Trace Meredith, son of Chip and Mary-Kinchen Meredith, of Clarksdale was the ring bearer.
Guest registry attendant was Kendall Busby, cousin of the bride, of Paynes. Program attendants were Hayden Smith, niece of the bride, and Addyson Kilgore, cousin of the bride, both of Holcomb.
The beautiful nuptial music was provided by Jason Derrick, organist of Oxford, and Dani Denley, vocalist of Grenada. The wedding was under the direction of Anne Pender of Grenada.
A reception for the couple was held immediately after the ceremony at the Grenada Golf and Racquet Club. Reception hostesses were Mike and Christina Provine and Manuel and Lirio Calero, both of Grenada. The delicious reception cuisine was prepared by High Cotton Catering of Grenada. The beautiful reception decorations and all flowers were provided by Frank and Jean Collins of Grenada. The bride’s table featured a square, four-tier wedding cake adorned with fresh white Ranunculus roses, Play Blanca roses, and Brunia Berry; Dusty Miller; and a rhinestone “G” complimented by a canvas portrait of the bride. The groom’s table, decorated by Angie McElwrath, featured outdoors and “House Divided” themes with pieces of nutmeg McCarty’s pottery and a custom-designed Rebel/Bulldog “House Divided” print by Stephanie Stanford Keith of Madison. Also on the groom’s table were chocolate-covered strawberries and a square, two-tier red velvet cake decorated with the letter “G”, chocolate-covered strawberries, and fishing lures. Both cakes were created by Katie Sykes Crenshaw of Charleston. The Stylish band of Columbus provided the music for the night. The bride and groom shared their first dance to “Our Future Days” by Pearl Jam. At the conclusion of the evening, the couple departed through a line of sparklers held by the guests and was escorted away by the bride’s stepfather in his 1969 white Cadillac convertible.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Carmella’s Ristorante in Grenada with the atrium area beautifully decorated by Angie McElwrath of Grenada.
Following their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, the couple has made their home in Grenada.
