Haley Lester and Matthew Griffin were united in marriage at five-thirty in the afternoon on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Sunflower Baptist Church. Brother Elbert McKnight officiated at the ceremony and Nancy Parker served as pianist.
The bride is the daughter of Heath Lester and Melonie Lester, both of Clarksdale. She is the granddaughter of Dudley and Francis Lester of Kosciusko and Douglas Turner of Tremont and the late Alice Turner of Idlewood.
The groom is the son of Matt and Michelle Griffin of Inverness. He is the grandson of John and Debbie Williams of Inverness, Doyle and Donna Peeples of Indianola, Kathy Griffin of Inverness and the late Clark Griffin of Inverness.
The bride wore an ivory/champagne traditional ball gown with pearls and crystal beading with a scalloped bodice and full skirt. Classic buttons embellished the sheer illusion back.
Attending the bride as her maid of honor was Jordan Turner. Bridesmaids were Hannah Sears, Carlie Johnson, Morgan Slawson, Courtney Rayburn, Amanda Hodge, Bailee Bellipani and Mary Baldwin.
Amber-Kirsten Allen and Mari Carter Johnson were the flower girls.
Attending the groom as his best man was his father, Matt Griffin. Groomsmen were Tyler Johnson, Jesse Sears, Taylor McDaniel, Chris Pate, Wesley Weeks, John Symon and Cody Harris.
John-Wesley Allen and Nolan Sears served as ring bearers.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at Indianola Country Club. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Town Market in Inverness.
Following a trip to Panama City Beach, Florida, the couple is at home in Inverness.
