Breaking: Runoff between Rosenthal, Jenkins likely

Final vote numbers were coming in right as the Thursday paper went to press, but it appears incumbent Mayor Steve Rosenthal and one of his challengers will head to a runoff.

Final affidavit ballot totals, which were counted the morning after the Oct. 10 election, show Rosenthal carrying around 49.4 percent of the vote.

Breaking: Mayor's race too close to call

Incumbent Mayor Steve Rosenthal currently owns 49.5 percent of the vote for Indianola mayor, according to machine, absentee and curbside vote counts on election night.

Affidavits will be counted the morning after the election.

Vivian Jenkins is in second place at 39.3 percent of the vote.
