A Doddsville man was arrested this month on charges of statutory rape and molestation.
Michael Benjamin Terry, 40, was booked into the Sunflower County jail on August 25, according to booking reports.
Sunflower County Sheriff’s Investigator Woody Spencer told The Enterprise-Tocsin that the incidents were reported to the sheriff’s department by Child Protective Services, and an investigation followed.
Terry has been charged specifically with statutory rape on a victim under 14 years of age (25 months younger and not a spouse) and gratification (touching a child for lustful purposes by a person over 18 years of age/a child under the age of 16).
Spencer said that Terry was given no bond by the judge.
