Indianola man dies during domestic altercation

Indianola has recorded its second homicide of 2023.
Tavoris Earvin, 40, was pronounced dead last Friday night during what police described as a domestic altercation with his brother.
Police received a call at 4:48 p.m. that night regarding a fight that was going on at the Garrard Road residence.

2024 session begins

The first week of the session saw a lot of familiar faces, as well as one notable new one when it comes to House leadership. Jason White was sworn in as the new Speaker of the House, replacing Philip Gunn.

Mayor says payroll issue at city hall has been resolved

Indianola city employees had a bit of a shock on payday last Friday.
Mayor Ken Featherstone confirmed to The Enterprise-Tocsin this week that many employees had irregularities with their pay, with some direct deposits being less than they should have been and some being more, including his own.
