SCCSD plans virtual graduations this month, traditional celebrations later

According to Sunflower County Consolidated School District Superintendent Miskia Davis, the district will hold virtual graduation ceremonies May 22 (Gentry) and May 23 (Thomas E. Edwards).

Gov. Tate Reeves announced this afternoon that these businesses may begin to serve customers indoors if they adhere to the restrictions he has put into place after he says he consulted with state health officials.

Delta Health Center gets more funding for COVID-19 testing

Mound Bayou-based Delta Health Center has received more funding to increase COVID-19 testing capacity.

According to a release from U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith this week, the health center received $291,289 for its program, which has already tested thousands in the Mississippi Delta.
