Dr. Carolyn Johnson is a native of Sunflower County.
She graduated from Ruleville Central High School and has matriculated through every educational level of Nursing Practice from being a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to attaining the highest degree awarded for Nursing Practice.
Dr. Johnson is no stranger to hard work, as she has built several businesses from the ground, including two Hospice and Palliative Organizations that served citizens of the Mississippi Delta for over 15 years.
She has also worked in local hospitals, nursing facilities, correctional facilities, as well as mental health agencies to ensure citizens received high-quality care, delivered with dignity and respect. She has been married to her husband Kervin, Sr. for over 35 years, has 2 children, Lywanis and Kervin, Jr., 1 granddaughter, Kenslei, and a loving and sweet fur baby, Stray.
This stance of quality, care, and respect is foundational to Dr. Johnson’s platform. She believes that all citizens of District 3, regardless of race, socio-economic, education, or career status.
Dr. Johnson believes that progressive and aggressive approaches are necessary to restore and revitalize District 3. Decisions must be made from an inclusive stance considering the needs of all citizens in District 3, not just the most prominent or even the most vocal.
These decisions must also be fiscally sound, economically viable, and sustainable.
The citizens of District 3 deserve leadership that can be a beacon of hope, empowerment, and support for each citizen, no matter who they are. A vote for Dr. Carolyn Steele Johnson is a vote for progress and success for all in District 3.
