Indianola Mayor Ken Featherstone said the city is about start enforcing its ordinances against illegal dumping.
Featherstone said in a press release this week that citizens need to be aware of and make use of the two authorized dumping sites within the city.
“As mayor of Indianola, I would like to urge every citizen to take pride in keeping Indianola clean and litter free,” he said. “As we have passed the holiday season, it has come to my attention that there is illegal dumping occurring throughout Indianola, and particularly in our Central Business District.”
Featherstone said illegal dumping is prohibited.
The two sites Featherstone listed as authorized for dumping are the north location on Hampton road near the baseball fields and the south location on Garrard Road near the lagoon.
“Please dispose of your rubbish at either one of these authorized locations,” he said.
