Ward 1 incumbent Alderman Gary Fratesi has filed papers to run for re-election in the October 14 primary.
Fratesi is the second of five aldermen to turn in paperwork. Ward 5 Alderman Sam Brock Jr. has also filed to run for re-election.
The deadline to qualify for Indianola’s municipal race is Aug. 15.
Incumbent Mayor Ken Featherstone announced his bid for reelection and filed papers earlier in the year.
Hollis Myrick has filed to run for mayor as well.
Kendrick K. Carpenter and Robert L. Campbell have filed to run for the Ward 2 alderman seat, which is currently held by Darrell Simpson.
Calvin Moton has filed to run for the Ward 3 alderman seat, which is currently held by Ruben Woods.
Sibyl Walker-Buckner has also filed to run for the Ward 3 alderman seat.
Johnny Phillips and Dana Myrick Jr. have filed to run for the Ward 4 alderman seat, which is currently held by Marvin Elder.
Rodreigus Young and Nakala Murry have also filed to run for the Ward 5 alderman seat.
