Delta State University will delay bringing all staff back to campus from Tuesday, May 26, 2020, until Monday, June 1, 2020.
Delta State President William N. LaForge made this decision after consultation with the commissioner of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning and with Delta State vice presidents, following Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves’ executive order No. 1488 that continues the statewide “safer at home” order for another week.
“Our decision to delay re-opening the campus was based on this new information, as well as the decision to operate with an abundance of caution in order to ensure the health and safety of our staff and faculty,” said President LaForge. “We will be doubly ready next Monday, June 1.”
