City officials, Indianola Chamber Main Street and Fast Pace Urgent Care Clinic held an official groundbreaking ceremony at 616 U.S. 82 W last week for the clinic that is scheduled to be open in October.
Indianola is getting an urgent care clinic.
City officials joined Tennessee-based Fast Pace Urgent Care Clinic last week in a groundbreaking ceremony of the new building that will be providing emergency and other healthcare services to Indianola this fall.
The location will be at 616 U.S. 82 W.
According to Nikki Hammond, with Fast Pace, the target date to open the clinic is currently Oct. 12, depending construction staying on schedule.
Hammond said the clinic will have eight patient rooms, an x-ray room and a small procedure room.
Hammond said that Fast Pace typically looks at smaller markets like Indianola for locations in order to help provide additional healthcare services in the area.
“We want to fill a gap,” Hammond said.
Hammond said the clinic accepts most insurance policies.
“It’s very rare that we don’t take insurance,” Hammond said.
She added that those who may not be insured, or in the rare case an insurance policy is not accepted, patients can pay an $85 fee and have any in-house procedure covered under that amount.
The clinic will hire about eight people starting out, and depending on growth, Hammond said the clinic will look to expand later.
Hammond said the clinic is expected to be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
This will be the company’s fourth location in Mississippi. The others already open are located in West Point, Greenwood and Kosciusko.
Fast Pace offers a variety of treatments like health screenings, tests, minor injuries, skin conditions and diagnostics, according to the website.
This groundbreaking represents another deal along the U.S. 82 corridor in Indianola.
Currently, a new Subway is being built at Sunflower Avenue and 82.
