Continuing on with their winning ways, the 8-1 Gentry High Rams basketball team begins a string of four consecutive road games this Saturday at Horn Lake High School.
More non-regional action will then resume next Tuesday when the Rams travel to Lexington to take on Holmes County High School. Tipoff for both of these games is scheduled for 7 p.m.
In their most recent action Tuesday night, the Rams earned a 74-55 home-court victory over Yazoo County High School.
This victory followed last Saturday’s 72-50 road thrashing of Greenville High School, a decision which helped extend the Rams’ current winning streak to five games.
In their Tuesday night win over Yazoo County, the Rams turned in strong first and third quarters in which they outscored the Panthers 49-20 to aid in building their 19 point victory.
While Cartisco Brown led all scorers with 25 points, Robert Bell turned in his second double double of the week with a 16-point, 14-rebound outing.
Along with Ernest Minton’s 10 points scored, D’Mandrick Boatwright recorded 10 assists and six steals in the contest.
The Rams would collectively record 22 steals in this game versus the Panthers.
Meanwhile, last Saturday the Rams used the scoring of 13 different players to help earn their 21 point win over the Hornets.
Although Minton led all scorers with his dozen point game Bell’s double double included 11 points and 13 rebounds.
