A home-court appearance today not only begins a busy week of basketball for the Indianola Academy Lady Colonels, but also serves as the opening game of the 2017-18 campaign for the IA boy’s squad.
When Manchester Academy of Yazoo City pays a visit to the IA gym today, the Lady Mavericks will tip-off at 6 p.m. against a 2-2 Lady Colonels squad fresh off a 42-32 Tuesday night road victory over Greenville St. Joseph High School.
While the boys’ game is scheduled to begin immediately following tonight’s girls’ action, these same starting times will be in effect for next Monday and Tuesday’s contests.
While Monday night will find IA at home against those same Greenville St. Joseph teams, next Tuesday will take IA back to Greenville for a non-district clash with Greenville Christian School.
In their recent victory over Greenville St. Joseph High, the Lady Colonels’ scoring was led by Anna Berry Stevens’ dozen points.
Just missing double digit scoring was Elizabeth Smith with eight points while Sarah Grace Manor added six points to her team-high nine rebounds.
