Results are unofficial and do not include absentee or affidavit ballots, but incumbent Mayor Steve Rosenthal currently holds a narorw lead over one of his challengers.
The final count for the night, counting curbside and absentee is 1,206 votes for Rosenthal and 955 votes for Vivian Jenkins. Robinson gained three votes in this count to up his total to 271.
Affidavits will be counted the morning after the election, but if these numbers hold up, Indianola will be headed for an Oct. 31 runoff between Jenkins and Rosenthal.
Currently, Rosenthal has 49.5 percent of the vote, with Jenkins at just over 39.3 percent.
There are 147 absentee votes being counted by hand tonight. 74 affidavits (will be counted morning after the elction) and 26 curbside votes. There are five voter ID affidavits which have until five o'clock five days after the eleciton to be certified.
There will be three total counts before the election is declared official, according to David Rushing, president of the Indianola Municipal Democratic Executive Committee.
Ward 1 goes to Gary Fratesi who ran unopposed. He unofficially has 386 votes.
Daryl Simpson currently leads Linda Smith Myles 303-173 in Ward 2, but these numbers are unofficial.
Marvin Elder currently leads the Ward 4 race with 275 votes to Dana Myrick's 125 and Sara Woods' 64 votes. These are unofficial.
Ruben Wood has won the Ward 3 race, according to the lastest count. He has 375 votes versus Harvey Watson's 73 votes and Ricky Hoskins (who dropped out) at 23 votes This is still an unofficial count.
Ward 5 has been called for Sam Brock (329 votes), who was opposed by Ricardo Gibson. We will have the official count when it is available.
