The Indianola Academy boys soccer team battled not only the Fighting Irish of St. Joe Greenville on Monday but also sub-freezing temps and a harsh wind. The sun was out for the noon game, but it brought little relief for either team, both of whom were scoreless until less than two minutes to play in regulation. With 1:42 remaining on the clock, St. Joe scored the lone decisive goal for the 1-0 win.
This followed a 4-2 win over Delta Streets for the Colonels, netting goals from Levi Williamson (10), Haygon Sheedy (12), and Patrick Davis (9). The Colonels, 6-4 in district, will play Delta Streets on Monday at 3 p.m. at home. They will play at Washington School on Feb. 3, followed by the first round of the playoffs.
