With the opening of the 2024 private school football season now just a week away, today brings a jamboree and a scrimmage to a pair of Sunflower County teams.
For Indianola Academy Head Coach Tommy Nester and North Sunflower Academy Head Coach Trey Goss, tonight’s action offers one last live look at the teams they will put on the field next Friday night.
The IA Colonels will travel to Clarksdale today for a scrimmage against the Colts of Lee Academy. Start time is 6 p.m.
The Colonels will officially open their 2024 season on the road next Friday with a trip to North Delta School in Batesville.
Meanwhile, the Rebels of North Sunflower will travel to Deer Creek School in Arcola tonight for scrimmages against a pair of teams.
At 6 p.m. the Rebels will take the field against the host Warriors to open the evening’s action.
Returning to the field at 6:30 p.m., the Rebels will take on the Lions of Delta Streets Academy of Greenwood.
The Rebels also open their season on the road next Friday night by taking a trip to Tunica Academy.
