The Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department plans to conduct a second thorough search for a missing 28-year-old Indianola man.
A Silver Alert was issued for Decemius Strong by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation late last month.
According to Sheriff Haywood, the search will get underway tomorrow (Saturday) morning with the assistance of outside agencies.
Haywood said he is expecting about 40 additional people to be a part of the search.
Haywood said the search team is returning to the Bayou Road area south of the industrial park in Indianola where Strong was last seen on January 22, 2022.
A search was conducted in that area two weeks ago but yielded little, according to authorities a the time.
There were some items found that were of interest, but no other details were offered.
The Strong family is offering a $2,500 reward for any credible information regarding the whereabouts of Strong.
“He’s my son,” Lemorris Strong told The Enterprise-Tocsin on Friday. “I want to know where he is.”
Lemoris Strong said he last saw his son at midnight on January 22.
According to the family’s alarm system, Strong said Decemius left the house at about 7 a.m.
