Another tough year in the MACCC for the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans. Promise and potential didn’t pan out for the 2025-26 season as the Trojans finished 7-20 overall and only 1-13 in the MACCC and an eight-game losing streak. Statwise, freshman Antron Mason II was the team’s leading scorer with 16.8 points per game, followed by sophomore Jordan Comanche with 12.2 points, but he led the team in rebounds with 6.6 per game, followed by Mason with 4.5. Sophomore Carter Mullins led the team in field goal and 3-point field goal percentages with 41.8 and 37 respectively. Comanche was second in field goal percentage at 37.6 and Mason was second in 3-point field goal percentage at 25.1.
Mason and Comanche were also one and two in free throw percentage with 81.8 and 67.1 respectively. Mason led the team in steals with 51 for the season and assists with 94. Sophomore Zakorian Taylor led the team in blocks with 23 over 26 games.
The MACCC is now in postseason in Region 23 with the top eight teams making the playoffs including in order of finish, Pearl River, Itawamba, Meridian, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Northwest, Jones, Coahoma and Copiah-Lincoln. The playoffs began on Thursday with opening round games of Southern University-Shreveport taking on Northwest and Co-Lin taking on Pearl River. Hinds and Holmes battled as did Northeast and Coahoma.
