Mississippi Delta Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of DeAndre House as Vice President of Student Services, effective July 7, 2025. The MDCC Board of Trustees approved President Dr. Steven Jones’ recommendation during their recent meeting.
House brings over two decades of experience in student services, most recently serving as Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Services at Hinds Community College. A proud native of Coffeeville, Mississippi, House is a 1995 graduate of Coffeeville High School and a military veteran who served honorably for 12 years as a sergeant in the United States Army Reserve. He holds an associate degree in computer information systems from Northwest Community College, a bachelor’s degree in computer programming from Delta State University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in management.

I look forward to working alongside our dedicated team to create a welcoming, student-centered environment where all students can thrive, succeed, and realize their full potential both in and out of the classroom.”
Throughout his career, House has demonstrated a strong mission to create inclusive, supportive, and empowering educational environments. He believes strong student services are the foundation for student retention, development, and lifelong success. His leadership style is rooted in integrity, accountability, and community building. During his 16-year tenure at Hinds Community College, House provided oversight for a wide range of departments, including mental health counseling, housing and residence life, student activities, and Title IX compliance.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Mr. House to Mississippi Delta Community College,” said Dr. Jones. “He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in student services, which I’m confident will prove valuable at the college. Mr. House is a proven leader who truly understands the inner workings of student services. When you combine his knowledge with the passion he has for serving students, it's a recipe for success.
“Mr. House has been given a big task of evaluating our policies, procedures, and practices with the sole purpose of improving the quality of student services through a student-centered and data-driven approach to leadership. In doing so, I anticipate bold, creative, and innovative leadership and a willingness to explore new pathways to success.
“I look forward to working alongside him to propel student services to higher heights. It is not enough to recruit students; we must retain and graduate them. Student services play a vital role in retention by creating an optimal campus life experience for students. Mr. House is the right person, at the right time, in our college’s history to usher in a new era in student services where excellence is the standard.
