Delta Health Alliance has been awarded a grant that will enable the organization to operate all of the head start centers in Sunflower County moving forward.
As part of the operations, DHA announced this week it plans to hire over 100 people to fill positions ranging from center directors, teachers, assistant teachers, substitute teachers, project support positions, bus drivers, maintenance technicians and custodians.
DHA will host a job fair on August. 17 from 8:30 a.m. until 11: 30 a.m. at The Capps Center in Indianola.
DHA was able to obtain the grant after Save The Children, which has operated Head Start in the county for years, opted not to reapply for the grant.
A spokesperson for DHA said Save The Children is working with DHA on the transition.
