Tropical Storm Sally has formed with winds sustained at 40 MPH. Sally will continue tracking NW through the Gulf and make landfall sometime Tuesday anywhere from the coast of LA to AL. There remains a good deal of uncertainty, but the latest guidance has the system taking a farther eastern track, which would put our area in a better position-less rainfall and wind effects. Some models are indicating Sally could reach major hurricane status, especially if it slows down and meanders in the Gulf longer than expected. This would also result in flooding rains along the coastal areas. Keep checking back for updates. Nonetheless, daily chances for rain and storms will exist through the end of next week.
