The second of two mayoral forums featuring the three Democratic party candidates for Indianola’s mayoral post will be held next Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Sunflower County Courthouse.
The Sunflower County Branch No. 5333 of the NAACP is hosting the forum.
The organization hosted a forum at Gentry High School in early September.
This forum, according to a release from the NAACP chapter, will address issues on economic development and infrastructure.
Like the previous meetings, candidates for city aldermen will have an opportunity to speak prior to the forum.
“This is another opportunity for the citizens of Indianola to hear from the candidate of their choosing,” the release said. “We thank all the members of the community that came out to support the first forum despite the inclement weather. We are expecting another great forum turnout as election day draws near.”
This forum, like the prior one, will also feature Woodrow Wilkins of WABG news as its moderator.
