Billy Ray Bills, age 68, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at the Shelby Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Shelby.
Billy was born Nov. 08, 1949 to Marlon Chester and Birdie (Kirksey) Bills in Cleveland. He grew up in the Ruleville area and graduated from Ruleville High School. After high school Billy went to work at Otis Hill's Welding and remained there for 37 years. He also drove wreckers for Zabe's Wrecker Service and Bills Body Shop. Billy loved the outdoors; enjoying hunting and fishing. His passion was helping others in need. He was a friend of Bill W. and touched many lives over the years. He was a member of Ruleville Baptist Church. Billy loved his family and his grandchildren were the joy and love of his life.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Marlon and Bertie Bills; wife, Kathryne Elizabeth Hill Bills; and brothers, Marlon Keith Bills and Mickey Bills.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Jessica Bills (David) Lester of Cleveland; step-son, Jeff Ferguson of Leland; one brother, Terry Bills of Star, Idaho; one sister, Sheila Dobbins of Greenville; four grandchildren; Hayden Bills, Mason (Joseph Fioranelli) Ferguson, Mia Ferguson and David Lester Jr.; and great-grandson, Powell Fioranelli.
Visitation will be held Wednesday Sept. 26, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Celebration of Life Services will follow at 12 p.m. in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville. The Rev. Robert Haney will officiate at the services.
Pallbearers will be Billy Brown, David Parker, Allen Mallette, Shane Bills, Gregg Bills and Butch Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Peyton Chambers and David Marlow IV.
