Funeral services for Helen Hamilton, age 73, of Carrollton, were at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 at the funeral home.
She died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at her home.
Helen was a former teacher’s assistant at Lockard Elementary School in Indianola, retiring after 20 years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen, also known as Nonnie, tried never to miss any activity her grandchildren had.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Hamilton; two daughters, Dana Hissong and Starr Teal and son-in-law, John David Teal; one son, Jeff Hamilton and beloved daughter-in-law, Chrystee Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Bethany Troutt, Josh Troutt, Trystan Hamilton, Ethan Hissong, Laury Beth Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Helen Claire Cobb, and Mary Braxton Cobb; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Starr Purvis; two step-grandchildren, Kalie and Jack Teal; two sisters, Lou Wood and Mary Carroll; and two brothers, Charles Harmon and Ray Harmon.
The family would like to give special thanks to Katie Troutt. Her kindness, help, and love for Nonnie were incomparable.
