Do you remember the TV show “The Twilight Zone?”
This was one of my favorite shows. Rod Serling, the creator of this popular show, wrote many of the episodes, and I was always fascinated by his creativity.
Many of the shows were extremely weird, yet they were very entertaining. Everyone knew that the events depicted in the shows were make believe - fictitious, imaginary.
But what does the Twilight Zone have to do with modern America? Listening to some of the news programs, I often look for Rod Serling to appear and remind the audience that “we were about to enter a dimension known as the Twilight Zone.”
Take for example this article written by a philosophy professor, Todd May, who teaches at Clemson University.
Professor May asks the question, “Would human extinction be a tragedy?”
I can only surmise that May was off of his medication when he asked this stupid and irrelevant question.
His premise is clearly an attack on humanity when he states, “Human beings are destroying large parts of the inhabitable earth and causing unimaginable suffering to many of the animals that inhabit it.”
He went on to lament the fact that Donald Trump had terminated the Paris Climate Accord and noted that the planet could sustain only a finite number of human beings.
Although a professor of philosophy, he wanders into the scientific realm when he asserts that “climate change” will make humans extinct.
But if the climate doesn’t get us, overpopulation will. Conclusion: “Human extinction may be a good thing.” This is Twilight Zone material.
Does the name Kyrsten Sinema ring a bell?
She is the new senator from Arizona.
At her swearing in, she refused to take the oath with her hand on the Bible.
Sinema, a self-professed bisexual, started her political career as a member of theGreen Party and is only the second member of the Senate to identify as LGBTQ. Sinema is a leftist of the first order who said, “... it was acceptable for anarchists and Antifa types to perpetrate violence, carry weapons, and destroy property in pursuit of their (extremist) goals.”
Could it be that the voters who elected this iconoclast are living in the Twilight Zone?
We all know that when it comes to politics, California is a very strange place. Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown did nothing to change that perception.
In fact, Brown, in his later years as governor, embraced the label “Moonbeam.” Rod Serling would have been proud. But as “Moonbeam” exited the political stage, a new and improved “Moonbeam” came to power.
His name is Gavin Newsom. Newsom was the mayor of San Francisco before being elected governor, and if you have been following the news, you already know that this beautiful city by the sea has been overrun with illegal aliens and homeless people.
They live on the side walks, and the city currently passes out maps advising tourists what areas to avoid because of the unsanitary conditions. Newsom, a multi-millionaire, hates Trump, guns, and border walls.
He wants open borders, and he has even invited illegals from across the world into California.
Even though California is 24 billion dollars in debt, Newsom advocates for universal single payer healthcare for everyone, including illegal aliens, and free college tuition for all.
With all of this largess, one might conclude that Californians are happy and content with their state government. Not so! The middle class now find it too expensive to live in California, and like Chicago, thousands move out every month.
Unfortunately, I think we may have lost California. Mexico has outsmarted our “brilliant” politicians, and has decided to take back the land it ceded to the United States in the 1800's.
Mexico is using the same play book the barbarians used when they brought the Roman Empire to its knees.
Flood the country with poor, unskilled, and uneducated people, and soon, they are so numerous that they cannot be sent back to their homelands. California, New Mexico, and Arizona are fast approaching that threshold. Brush up on your Spanish when visiting these states.
We do live in a most peculiar time in history. President Trump has made it possible for the average man and woman to earn a descent living, yet he is universally hated by Democrats. America is back as the world’s leader, yet the masses long for Barack Obama. Even Rod Serling would be scratching his head.
