SPOTLIGHT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT: Today The Enterprise-Tocsin salutes Macon Moore who is an investigator with the Indianola Police Department. Previously, he worked with the Criminal Investigative Department with the Greenville Police Department. He also served as Assistant Director of the Central Delta Drug Task Force.
COLLEGE NEWS: Three Sunflower County students have been named to the Hall of Fame at Mississippi Delta Community College. They are Mike McIntyre of Inverness, Debra Mohammed of Indianola, and Mericlaire Williams of Inverness.

CDA SCHOOL NEWS: Ryan Lester and Ashley Weeks have been named Mr. and Miss Central Delta Academy at the recent Who’s Who election.
GENTRY HIGH SCHOOL NEWS: Gentry High School held their Junior/Senior Prom last Friday. Best dressed lady selected was Creshaina Wilson and best dressed gentleman honors went to Anthony Davis.Valengra Green was named Prom Queen and Drummond Jones was selected Prom King.
IA SPORTS: The IA Academy girls track team won the 1-AA meet last Saturday. Megan Worley won her heat in the 200m dash.
UPDATE ON MACON MOORE
Macon Moore has spent his entire adult life in law enforcement Today he is the Chief of Police in Southaven. When he left the Delta, he went to work for the Southaven Police Department and then was Chief Investigator for the Desoto County Sheriff’s office. Last July, the Southaven city officials recognized Moore for his expertise in law enforcement by selecting him as their Police Chief.
Chief Moore says that there is never a dull moment at his department. “We stay very busy, our department receives from 200 to 250 calls per week,” Moore said.
Chief Moore was well known in the Delta not only in law enforcement, but for his love of the outdoors. “I try to get back to the Delta as often as I can. I don’t have much time for it, but I still enjoy hunting and fishing very much,” he said.
His wife, Melissa has been a teacher in the Southaven School District for over 23 years.
They have two children, Emma who is a student at Ole Miss and Ely who is a 9th grader.
