UPDATE ON
INDIANOLA
INSURANCE AGENCY
Twenty-five years ago, the Indianola Insurance Agency received an award for 75 years of service.
The Indianola Insurance Agency has the distinction of being one of the oldest businesses, if not the oldest, that has continually operated in Indianola.
It was founded in 1903 and for years operated as Barbour and Chandler. J. F. Barbour and Lane T. Chandler set the standard for the business today. They both served as city officials and were community leaders.
Today the agency is owned by Doug Russell and Ed Robinson with Robinson serving as president and Russell as vice-president.
“We are very proud of the history of our agency. A number of years ago when we remodeled, we found old photos of the earlier owners and employees. We had them framed and they now line our walls. We have served our community and surrounding areas for 118 years and plan to continue this service for many more,” Russell said.
