IA opens baseball season

The good news is the 2023 baseball season has finally gotten underway for the Indianola Academy Colonels.
The additional good news is that local IA fans have a string of four consecutive home dates on the horizon to attend. This opportunity will also allow fans to hopefully see the Colonels rebound from their recent season-opening loss.

Gentry baseball today

Spring is coming, but the opening day of the 2023 Gentry High Rams baseball season has already arrived.
For today in Belzoni, the Rams will step onto the Humphreys County High field for a 4 p.m. contest.
With this non-regional clash against the Cowboys, the Rams are filled with hopes of beginning an improved season with a victory.

Colonels rained out, to try again next Tuesday

The Indianola Academy Colonels did attempt to open their 2023 baseball season Tuesday evening.
However, that game against visiting Riverside High of Avon was rained out in the second inning, leaving the Colonels left to try again next Tuesday to begin their new season.

Rams to take first swings Feb. 17

Youth is the word most mentioned when discussing the 2023 version of the Gentry High Rams baseball team.
However, despite only four returning starters coming back from last year’s squad which posted a 7-18 record, second year Head Coach Eddie Ivory is optimistic about the upcoming season.
