Security Services has no doubt saved a lot of lives and property over the years.
Until last week, the lives and property saved were mostly by way of the Cleveland-based security company’s alarm systems.
Two of the company’s employees were traveling along Highway 448 between Shaw and Indianola last Friday afternoon when they happened upon a single-car crash where the vehicle was partially submerged in water, and multiple people were severely injured and trapped inside.
James Fisk and Robert Dudley immediately rushed to help, according to a social media post from the company.
“While traveling to a job site, James and Robert noticed a crowd of onlookers near the water,” the post read. “Upon learning that people were trapped in the partially submerged vehicle, they sprang into action without hesitation.
“Wading into the water, they discovered the passengers—three of whom had broken limbs, some with severe bleeding and protruding bones. Demonstrating remarkable composure and quick thinking, Robert and James carefully removed the injured individuals from the vehicle and administered emergency first aid. Using improvised tourniquets and applying pressure to control bleeding, they stabilized the victims until emergency responders arrived.”
Security Services said that the two men did not want to be recognized, “but their heroic efforts deserve to be celebrated.”
According to Sunflower County’s Emergency Medical Services report, “On Friday, January 17 at 3:22 p.m., Rescue 1 along with the Indianola and Linn-Steiner-Roundaway fire departments responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 400 range of Mississippi Highway 448. Of the four occupants of the vehicle, three were flown from the scene to regional trauma centers, and one was transported locally by MedStat EMS. One firefighter sustained a hand injury during the rescue operation. The firefighter was treated at South Sunflower County Hospital and released Friday evening.”
