Sometimes it is all about winning when it matters the most.
On the strength of a clutch district tournament basketball win, the Indianola Academy Lady Colonels will be joining their counterpart Colonels further into postseason play.
For this past Monday night, the fifth-seeded Lady Colonels earned a 39-24 victory over the fourth-seeded and tournament host Lady Irish of Greenville St. Joseph High School.
The victory enabled the now 2-19 IA girls to join the 10-10 Colonels in further district tournament play which continued Wednesday night.
While results of those games were unavailable at press time, the Lady Colonels took on top-seeded Winona Christian School.
Meanwhile, the third-seeded Colonels opened their postseason play by taking the court against the second-seeded Stars of Winona Christian School.

Consolation games will precede the title matches with the girls tipping off at 4 p.m. and boys at 5:30 p.m.
When the dust settles and the top four seeding out of this tournament is established, the IA squads will participate in next week’s North 4A Tournament.
Scheduled to begin next Tuesday, this upcoming tournament will be hosted by North Delta School of Batesville.
Game times and opponents for next week’s action are to be announced.
