IA drops two at home to Winona
A busy week of basketball begins today for the Indianola Academy basketball teams.
With three upcoming games to play, the 1-14, 1-2 Lady Colonels and the 7-8, 0-3 Colonels will see their action begin at 6 p.m. on each of those playing dates.
Arriving in town this evening to begin IA’s string of contests is Central Holmes Christian School of Lexington.
Today’s District 2-4A night of play will then be followed by another on Friday night with a trip to Carroll Academy.
Completing this rash of games on the IA schedule is a break in district competition. This non-district night of play will occur next Tuesday when Tunica Academy comes to town.
Meanwhile, in this past week’s lone basketball action played Tuesday night, both IA squads dropped a home-court district decision to Winona Christian School.
While the Lady Colonels fell by a 51-12 margin, the Colonels were dealt a 54-44 loss by the Stars.
Leading the scoring for the Colonels in their contest was E.J. Hall with 10 points while C.J. Brown matched his nine points scored with nine rebounds.
Note: Games scheduled for Friday have been moved to Monday.
