Like so many other high school baseball teams in the state, the Gentry High Rams and the Indianola Academy Colonels are still searching for their season-opening games.
While the AAA defending state champion Colonels are hoping a 6 p.m. game at East Rankin Academy in Pelahatchie occurs today, the Rams have plans to take the field at 4 p.m. this Friday against Humphreys County in Belzoni.
The Rams are then scheduled to play their home-field opener this Saturday at 11 a.m. versus Hollandale Simmons High, a contest to be followed next Tuesday with a trip to Greenwood High for a 4 p.m. Region 3-4A contest.
As for the Colonels, future action includes a 4:30 p.m. Monday visit to Riverside High School and Tuesday takes the IA squad to Manchester Academy in Yazoo City for a 6 p.m. match-up
