Success almost always breeds recognition and such is the case for several members of the 2018 Gentry High baseball team.
After earning their first winning season since 2007 by accumulating a 8-5 record, an achievement which also led to a first round 4A playoff appearance, Gentry Head Coach Timothy Holmes has a total of five players receiving postseason honors for their play this past spring.
Named as Region 3-4A first team selections were junior first baseman Kylon Bush and senior shortstop Kameron Spenccer.
Meanwhile, fellow seniors Junarious Faint and Jatavious Whitley were named as a second team catcher and outfielder selections respectively.
Also receiving an Honorable Mention nod for his regional play this spring was third baseman Tyreek Tutwiler.
