With a good start to the 2018 baseball season coming by way of Tuesday’s 15-5 victory over visiting O’Bannon High School of Greenville, the Gentry High Rams are hoping the weather will allow for an upcoming busy week of baseball.
For this Friday’s schedule has the Rams hosting Greenville High in a 4 p.m. contest while Saturday will find the Gentry squad at Humphreys County High in Belzoni. First pitch of this game is set to be thrown at noon that day.
Additional baseball play is on tap for next Monday with a visit to Velma Jackson High in Lexington while next Tuesday has the Rams traveling again to take on the Fighting Irish of Greenville St. Joseph High School. Both games are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
In their season opening win over O’Bannon High, the Rams’ hitting attack was led by Kylon Bush’s pair of singles which netted four RBI’s.
Tyreek Tutwiler also had a productive day at the plate with his triple and two RBI’s.
On the mound, Christian Randle picked up the win during his 4.3 innings of work which yielded four hits while striking out two and walking a pair of batters.
