Riding a two-game win streak into Wednesday evening’s home field clash with Greenville St. Joseph High School, the Indianola Academy Lady Colonels were looking to improve on their current 3-2, 2-0 record.
While Wednesday’s results of the Division III, District 1 clash with the Irish were unavailable at press-time, the Lady Colonels next action will occur next Monday when non--district foe Washington School of Greenville visits for a 3 p.m. contest.
As for their latest victories, the IA squad earned a 4-1 district home-field win over Bayou Academy of Cleveland on Monday evening.
While their defense contained the Lady Colts’ scoring efforts, Anna Berry Stevens paced the IA scoring with two goals while Mary Linton Davis and Mattie Beth Williamson added one goal apiece to complete their team’s scoring.
Meanwhile, the Lady Colonels picked up another win on August 16 when they visited Washington School and came home with a 2-0 victory.
While their defense was once again stingy, Stevens’ pair of goals gave IA all they would need to claim the game.
