Still remaining unbeaten in Region 3-4A competition, the Gentry High Lady Rams will attempt to stay that way this Friday when they play host to Yazoo City High School.
Owning a 12-5, 4-0 record when they take the court against the Indians, the Lady Rams will then venture outside regional play next Tuesday when Ray Brooks High of Benoit comes to town. Both games are scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m.
This past week’s play was successful for the Lady Rams as they earned their most recent pair of regional victories.
In their latest action played Tuesday night, it was Clarksdale High School which fell by a 68-36 margin to the Gentry High squad.
Behind a pair of double double performances, the Lady Rams quickly moved on to their lopsided victory in this game.
While Belize Reed’s team-high 21 points scored also included 15 rebounds, Mercedes Hayes added 11 rebounds to her 15 points posted on the scoreboard.
Also adding a dozen points to the Lady Rams’ offensive attack was Niyah Davis.
Another victory was earned by the Lady Rams last Friday when they dealt the Lady Bulldogs of Greenwood High a 69-47 loss.
In this contest, a superb game was had from Hayes as the senior pumped 27 points through the basketball while also grabbing 22 rebounds.
Reaching double digit scoring status in this game as well were Shacori Dawson with 15 points and Reed’s 10 point night of play.
