Thursday Night Shooting in Indianola Leaves Man Wounded

A Thursday night shooting in Indianola left one man with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, whom The Enterprise-Tocsin has chosen to not identify, is expected to survive.

According to Indianola Police Chief Ronald Sampson, the shooting took place on Ethel Waters Drive.

City considers polling location changes

The Indianola Board of Aldermen will consider some changes to some of the city’s polling locations for the upcoming municipal election in October.
Sunflower County Democratic Executive Committee Chairman David Rushing requested that the board officially move the Ward 2 polling place to the Lions Club building.

No Injuries as Suspect in Early Thursday Shooting Surrenders

A female suspect has turned herself in at the Indianola Police Department following a shooting on Augusta Street on Thursday morning.

IPD Assistant Chief Earnest Gilson told The Enterprise-Tocsin that the shooting occurred around 7:10 a.m. on Thursday when suspect Brittany Fairley fired three shots at her boyfriend.
