I saw my first tornado when I was about 8 years old.
The warning was issued for Yazoo County right after school let out. For most families, a tornado warning means getting to that safe place, an interior room or underground storm shelter.
For our family, tornado warnings oftentimes meant, “grab the camera and let’s go.”
